Crysis- The hangover remains!

This Friday evening I was wondering about my collapsing plans. One after the other they were falling as pillars of weak building in an earthquake. Everything seemed too boring. I had no clue about what was I gonna do on a weekend. After office, I went to a theater to watch a movie. I was late and was not expecting to get a ticket but I was lucky enough to get two tickets for me and my brother for the movie “National Treasure – The book of secrets”. It was late so I decided to stay over his place. Bhabi had gone to her parents and the house was all for us. It was time to party and bro had something very interesting to show me.

As I sat on his computer with two large 19″ flat screens and power full audio systems, things looked promising. He stated something on the computer, the audio pumped in some real good sound while the video slowly started as a trailor of something amazing. Guns, enemy, planes, tanks… a begging of a gripping story line. A thriller, suspense, action filled game with lots of attitude.

Story: The story starts in the year 2020. A group of scientist send a distress signal from an island in Philippines. After there is no communication, a small team of covert special forces is send in to locate and bring back the scientists. As the commando’s sneak in they find North Korean military all around the island. During the search, one by one your team goes missing. Something just comes in and takes them away. The military intelligence realises that the scientist had found something very important and and the North Koreans want their hands on it anyhow.

The mission soon turns in to an all out war with tanks, choppers, fighters and what not. But when you thought that US military was in control, something happens and the game just becomes too thrilling.

You: You play as a US Army Commando (You can choose you level, I choose the hardest – “Delta Force“). The commando has a specially made nano suit which makes you a super human. You start as a single player, then fight in a small team and then go to an all out brigade war level. The game play is just fantastic.

Graphics & Sound: Graphics are simply amazing, everything looks so natural and the bots are super natural. Decals are good. Sound is simply amazing. Me and my bro had moments of heart stopping thrills.

Cry Engine2

The engine used in the game is very advanced graphic engine.  The physics engine, which eventually is software code,  used in the game makes every action governed by the law of physics.  So unlike a bad action movie in which if you fire a rocket at a car, it won’t  be thrown vertically but horizontally like it should. And yes, people won’t fly like anything too. This makes the game very impressive. Here is a youtube clip of the CryEngine2 Demo:

What to expect?
Get used to saying the words “awesome”, “wow”, “fundo” and the likes which you use only when you are too excited. Game was highly addicting to me.

I am not much of an indoor guy, but this game made my weekend. I slept at 04:00 am on saturday. A call woke me up at 07:30 am and I started playing. Had brunch at 12:00 some rest and then again back on the game till 07:00 after which we went out to hang around. Watched movie “bombay to Bangkok”. Played “Crysis” till 03:00 am slept till 10:00 then back on the game. Slept at 03:00 am on monday morning only to wake up at 08:00 for the office.

The game was just too impressive. I can still imagine the enemy coming. “God damn it, where is my gun. I need ammo too“.
